Where are you originally from?
Windham, NY (Catskill Mountains area)
How did you decide on construction as a career?
I have always had an interest in building things, probably prompted by the fact that it was always around me growing up as my father was a custom home builder. I used to go to work with him as early as 5 years old, and worked summers for him during my early teenage years. I ventured out and tried a few different things, studied finance in college, was in sales for awhile, but ultimately returned to the construction industry as a career choice because it feels natural.
What do you like the most about this industry/your job?
The level of satisfaction that comes from delivering a product that performs and appears as it is supposed to is a direct result of what had to be overcome in order to deliver it. I like the fact that no two projects are the same, the unpredictability and challenge that comes with them and working with the different members of the project team to properly execute them.
What are your hobbies/interests?
I have two young children, a 4 year and 1 year old who occupy a lot of time… in a good way. Outside of that, I like skiing, mountain biking, entertaining, live music and trying new stuff.
